Alvan Roof Coating is a premium, seamless waterproofing layer designed to protect rooftops, commonly known as roof paint. With its excellent resistance to UV rays, moisture, rain, and various weather conditions, it serves as an ideal alternative to traditional bitumen (isogam), tar, asphalt, and old-fashioned waterproofing methods.
Using Alvan Roof Coating significantly reduces water leakage, increases the lifespan of the structure, and improves the building’s overall energy efficiency. It is suitable for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings of all types.
This coating is formulated based on high-quality, flexible water-based resins and offers outstanding adhesion to different surfaces such as concrete, cement, asphalt, and even bituminous membranes.
Once applied, it creates a continuous, joint-free waterproof layer. It can also be used beneath tiles in kitchens, bathrooms, and wet areas.
Water-thinnable and environmentally friendly
Easy to apply; no professional technician required
Odor-free during application
Much lighter than bituminous and asphalt coatings
Enhances thermal insulation and minimizes energy loss
Anti-fungal and resistant to microbial growth
Long service life with high resistance to harsh weather conditions
Before applying Alvan Roof Coating, follow these steps:
Ensure the surface is completely clean, solid, and free from dust or contaminants; wash with clean water if needed.
The coating can be applied on dry or slightly damp surfaces.
After repairing cracks and voids, a sealer coat must be applied to increase adhesion.
To prepare the sealer, dilute the roof coating with water at a 3:1 ratio or up to 1:1 and apply using a brush, roller, or spray.
Sealer drying time is approximately 3 hours depending on ambient temperature and humidity.
For larger cracks, silica sand can be added to the coating to create a repair mortar.
In critical areas such as internal and external corners, wall-to-floor joints, pipe outlets, and drain areas, reinforce the surface with fiberglass mesh.
Stir the product thoroughly before application and apply without dilution.
The number of coats depends on the surface roughness; typically, two to three coats are recommended.
For maximum strength, use two layers of fiberglass mesh (horizontal and vertical) and apply coating layers in perpendicular directions.
Ideal application temperature: 10–30°C with the surface at least 3°C above the dew point and relative humidity around 40%.
Cost-effective and more durable than bitumen or tar
Quick and easy application without heavy equipment
Ideal for rooftops, terraces, wet areas, and under tiles
Provides complete protection against moisture, heat, and cold
Extends building lifespan and significantly reduces long-term maintenance costs
