COLOR OF THE YEAR 2016

Greenery: Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2017
For those of you waiting with bated breath to make a decision about what colour to paint your living room walls, Pantone has just announced that the colour of 2017 is Greenery.
In response to the social and political complexity of our times Pantone have picked a vibrant tangy green that “bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for”.
Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman explains why this “life affirming shade” was a natural choice;
Last year’s announcement surprised us all with Pantone picking two colours, pale blue Serenity and dusky pink Rose Quartz, for 2016. Going back to their traditional one colour approach they’ve picked ‘fresh and zesty’ Greenery for the coming year. Amidst political uncertainly the choice of one is reassuring. Perhaps the last thing we needed was the challenge of picking between two shades or deciding how best to pair them.
“Through its reassuring yet assertive vibrancy, Greenery offers us self-assurance and boldness to live life on our own terms, during a time when we are redefining what makes us successful and happy.”
Plus it reminds us to eat our fruit and veg!

PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral
Pantone's Colour of the Year 2019 is Living Coral, an "animating and life-affirming shade of orange with a golden undertone".
A decidedly more natural colour than last year's choice, you'd be correct in guessing that the all-pervasive and pressing environmental conversation that's taken place over the past year has played a big part in the Pantone Colour Institute's decision.
"We get energy from nature," a statement from Pantone reads. "Just as coral reefs are a source of sustenance and shelter to sea life, vibrant yet mellow Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment."
